On our way up…
Driving up was so easy! It took us less than 45 minutes from our house. It wasn’t hard finding a place to play either…we just had to find everyone else like us!
Ava’s first time touching snow! (Wait, we did see old snow at a rest stop in New Mexico this past Christmas. But that didn’t count!)
It was that snow ball that hit my camera smack in the lens! It took me forever to get that huge snowball out of it!
Layla’s first fist full of snow!
Two extremely excited girls!
Ava about to launch a snowball at Layla…Layla running for her life!
Red noses all around!
Oops! I got Layla in the head with a snowball. At least she was a good sport about it!
Their first snow angels!
Ava caught a snowflake on her tongue! They weren’t puny little flakes! They were a decent size!
Plotting a move against me!
Yeah, they got me! At least it wasn’t the camera this time!
Just playing…
Layla panicked…just a little! She got stuck!
Layla starting her snowman…
Her finished product…obviously I helped…just a little!
Proud Layla!
When we were leaving the house, the girls knew we were going to try and find snow. Ava had a whole list of things that she wanted to do! I tried to explain to her that I just wanted them to see snow and that there probably wasn’t going to be enough to do much! Her list was…catch a snowflake on her tongue, throw a snowball and make a snow angel! She got to do all 3! I couldn’t believe how much snow there was so close to us!
A couple of things I learned from this…first, WHY didn’t we do this sooner! The girls had a blast and I did too! I loved acting like a little kid playing in the snow! I really hope we have at least one more good winter storm before spring so we can go up again! Two…GLOVES! Next time, we will have gloves! Third, we need a sled! But most importantly…we need Daddy! He would have had the most fun!

AW!!! What beautiful pictures!!!!
