Tonight I will be short and sweet. Well, maybe not so sweet. My day started out awful and then spun from there!
Ava loves art and everything that goes with it…coloring, painting, cutting…you name it, she loves it. So Santa thought it would be smart to get her a desk and A LOT of art supplies for Christmas. Silly Santa! She cut her hair on accident…was cutting paper and her hair got in the way…sure. And this morning…she thought it would be a good idea to CUT the hair ties out of her hair. If I had a picture of me screaming…I would insert it here! I pulled handfuls of hair out of her hair this morning…her beautiful long hair! AHHH!
The final straw…she drew all over her bathroom counter with a pen, colored pencils AND nail polish. No, I do not let them have nail polish! They got it for Christmas, it was in a box in the garage, and she must have seen it getting out of the car one day and grabbed it before I knew! Next thing I know…it’s gracing her bathroom counter! She knows better! Yes, she is only 5…BUT SHE KNOWS BETTER!
Needless to say, I spent the entire day cleaning. I took away anything and everything that has to do with art and projects. She has to earn that back! AND I took away TV for the weekend…I only let them watch TV at night on the weekends…never on weekdays. So…it hit her hard! When Shannon picked her up for school this morning…she was a crying, blubbering mess. Shannon said she wouldn’t even talk on the way to school. Funny, when I picked her up from school this afternoon, she was chipper as could be! She’s a suck up!
She will not get TV privileges back or her art stuff until she earns them. She is smart enough to know consequences.
I thought after school I would have her do a chore…cleaning the floors! Turns out it wasn’t so much a chore for her… and Layla wanted to help…they had a blast! BOO!
As a treat to myself for cleaning the girls room, washing their linens, dusting the house, vacuuming the house, cleaning their bathroomS and basically staying sane …dinner.
OK, this was NOT a treat! I hate Carls Jr, but didn’t feel like driving in Friday evening traffic…
After dinner I worked on a project I have envisioned for a while! I guess it’s a pretty generic project…just frames and pictures…but I have never been good at that! We have the perfect “picture” wall entering into our house. I have a TON more pictures to add…but I bought Wal-Mart out on their 4×6 frames! UGH! Hopefully by next week they restock!
This is why I was trying to get my printer to work a few days ago! And don’t judge! This is just the beginning! I plan on filling this wall for the most part! I wonder how many times I will have to “buy out” Wal-Mart’s frames!
And don’t mind the leveling…that’s Jason’s project when he comes home…he’s good at that. Funny how Jason has all these projects waiting for him…I don’t think he even knows about them yet. Oops!
