Adult Conversation and Leftovers!

Well, since I can't talk to the girls about everything...I need some adult conversation. So, if I were talking to you...here is what I would say today!

First of all, I'm not a fan of KFC. I'm more of a Popeye's girl. BUT, when TMZ has KFC plastered all over their website, it makes me want one of their $5 meals! UGH! I guess that is the power of advertising. Good thing I don't know where a KFC is! Ha, your advertising didn't work on me!

So, as Charlie Sheen would say...wait, he only talks about winning. I don't know what he says about the losers. So, KFC advertising, you are NOT winning. Wait, maybe they were, because I did want it. Oh well, I'm just as confused as I am when I read about Charlie Sheen. Now I sound like Charlie Sheen. Crap.

In other relevant news, I got a bit of an ego boost today. I got my grade back, finally, on my research project. It was worth a total of 20% of our entire course grade, I managed to get an 18.5! Only docked a point and a half! Heck yeah! And in the professor's notes to me...I quote, "This is one of the best research papers I have read. Great job expressing your ideas!" My thoughts...not a good idea to tell me I did so well when I only spent 2 days out of the 5 weeks given to write the paper!

Who knew the digital divide could be so interesting!

And last, a funny Ava story. This happened BEFORE I took away all of her art supplies...

She had a pair of scissors in her hand and was cutting something. There was a dollar bill sitting on her desk. I told her...you never cut money in half. If you do that, you can't spend it.

So, about a week after that "talk" she came running to me telling George Washington is on the dollar bill and they are learning about him in class...so can she take her dollar to school to show the class. I said SURE!

Ava handed me the dollar to show me and this is what it looked like!

A "trimmed" dollar bill. I asked her why she cut it after I told her she wasn't supposed to. Her response, "You told me not to cut it in half. I just cut the edges off."

Argh! Yes, I did say not to cut it in half, but what I really meant was, DON'T CUT MONEY AT ALL!

Alright, I save you from anymore of my boring "adult conversation". Dinner tonight was leftovers from last night...Spanish Omlette. Layla and I made a cucumber and mandarin orange salad to go with it.

Layla adding the cucumber.

And the mandarin oranges.

Oh...and fresh mint too!

Now adding salt like mommy does...her her fingers!

I definitely see a little chef in her future! So proud of her salad...although the oranges did get a bit smashed with her stirring!

For the life of me...I could not get that picture to turn!

So, after we got home from gymnastics tonight, it only took about 5 minutes to warm up the leftovers and dish up! That's always my plan for Tuesday nights!
