Torture.

What type of torture? Marking my most dreaded task off of my "to do" list...the girl's rooms.

I decided previously that I was going to move them into the same room again for summer...so that they could have a playroom again. So not only did I clean, organize and get rid of a ton of toys...I took apart Ava's bed and moved it to Layla's room. I'm an old pro at this stuff...but it doesn't make it any easier or funner!

I started this morning at 9am...I finished at exactly 4:07. Seriously, although I did have to take a break to go get Ava from school.

What I started with! I will admit, I let the girl's rooms get a little out of control, especially for my standards! And, normally, I would not take pictures of this process or even want to document it. But I kept taking pictures and emailing them to Jason, so he could feel sorry for me.
Ava's room. Plus my little helper!
Ugh, what you see when you walked into Ava's room.
Surprisingly, Layla's room looked better than Ava's. That is because she hid everything under her bed!
Oh, and she hides things in her bed, too. Not sure how she sleeps in it!
Looking from Layla's room to Ava's...through the bathrooms. Awesome, princess dresses and cut up paper in the bathroom.
One hour in, started moving toys from Layla's room into the new playroom.
One hour in.
2 hours in, the new bedroom.
About to move Ava's bed in.
3 hours in...Ava's bed is out of the playroom. See all those scraps of paper...ugh!
4 hours in. Yeah, I made this mess going through all their toys and bins.
4 hours in and Ava's bed is put back together...Layla was taking a break...reading.
5 hours in...looking better...and then I found this...
Ava likes to stash trash and nonsense under her bathroom sink. Not cool!
6 hours in!
Insert the "ahhhhh" singing voice!
6 hours in...still a bit more to do with the bedroom.

Finished product...

Looking at the Girl's bedroom from the door.
Ava's bed.
Layla's bed.
Books and jewelry...and of course Stella worrying about what is going on!
Looking into the playroom from the door, the girls busy coloring.

The best reward of this...overhearing Ava tell Layla..."I love sharing a room with you."

Although, I wonder how long that will last! Ava is so thankful for this. She said that she will do anything I ask her to do since I did so much for them today. Hmm...I'm making my list! Too bad she is too little to go pick up poo in the backyard!
